Interestingly, the update says that the dyes will also contain color palettes that will more widely change the color schemes of Diablo 4's wide range of gear. The dyes will be accessible in the player's hub area, known as the Lair. The quarterly update, however, details that in Diablo 4 players will be able to dye each individual piece of armor or all of their equipped armor at once. Dyes have been present in the Diablo series before, and allow players to further customize their gear by applying a color of their choice to it. The post also gave details on how the dye system will be evolved for Diablo 4. The update also included a handful of screenshots that show a lot of variety in the characters possible in the system. Interestingly, each Diablo 4 class will have some unique customization options to reflect the class' culture and history within the world, but most of the options will be universally available to all characters. The update details how players will be able to fully customize their character's skin color, hair, facial hair, markings, and tattoos when they create their class at the start of Diablo 4. The only way to change that appearance was by picking up and equipping different pieces of armor throughout one's playthrough, which would effectively cover up the class' starting appearance. In previous Diablo titles, players simply chose from one of Diablo's pre-built classes like Druid or Sorceress that have an assigned appearance. The newest information that Blizzard has released reveals that players will be able to fully customize their characters for the first time in Diablo 4.
